There is a certain warm, fuzzy feeling you get when you wake up in the morning with the sun shining just right. You’re grinning from cheek to cheek with excitement to start your day. That is the exact feeling that comes over you when you listen to Maple St.

Let the music guide you

Jillian and Alyssa are two extremely wholesome and joyful individuals who also happen to be proudly queer; and their relationship transcends into their music, multiplying this positivity even more.

Inspired by artists like MUNA and Japanese House, they channel the similar bubblegum-pop sounds with a touch of homemade authenticity in the production along with meaningful songwriting.

If you follow their instagram, you will see that they are always up to something quirky and it’s a transparent view into their lives and music making processes. This makes the music feel more genuine when jamming out to Maple St.

One of their songs, “The View”, paints a beautiful image about two people in love deciding to escape to somewhere else. It speaks about how it doesn’t matter where

they run away too, they will find something to do there, even if it’s as simple as roasting potatoes, or singing in bars. As long as they are together, nothing else matters and it will all be worth it in the end.

Another one “Love Me Less”, talks about the insecurity of being in a relationship and if the magic would fade out. The innocence about being vulnerable is something that really resonates with a lot of people and it is this honesty in their songs that make them such a great band.

Even though their music making process has been completely derailed by the COVID induced quarantine, we hope they continue writing and releasing feel-good music for everyone out there who needs it. We really could use it. Now more than ever.
